Ford has unveiled a dynamic and advanced new version of the iconic Fiesta model, which introduces a whole host of upgrades for 2013. With a close focus on greater safety and economy, the new Fiesta also features a sharper, more contemporary design and cutting-edge smart technology.
Explore the exterior and you will see a bold new trapezoidal front grille flanked by laser-cut daytime running LED headlamps, a power-dome bonnet design and reshaped rear lights. Step inside and you will find quality materials and finishes - a harmonious balance of space, ergonomics and style.
The biggest news under the bonnet is the introduction of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which in turbocharged form delivers either 99bhp or 123bhp. The lower powered version is set to deliver 66 MPG while both are designed to offer cutting-edge efficiency and plenty of torque from low revs. There is also a 1.6-litre diesel that will be capable of 78 MPG on the combined cycle. Whichever engine you choose, the new Fiesta provides an exceptional blend of ride and handling, with crisp, accurate responses that many sports cars would be happy to achieve.
Really useful and innovative technology is conspicuous in the new Fiesta. For example, Active City Stop - a unique advance among European competitors – is a system tailored for busy urban driving that helps drivers to avoid low speed collisions. There is also Ford SYNC, the in-car connectivity system that enables you to voice-activate music choices and phone calls from any devices connected via Bluetooth or USB. This system will also include Emergency Assistance, which directly connects vehicle occupants to local emergency services following an accident, in the right language for the region. Making its European debut in the new Fiesta is MyKey, which allows the car owner to programme maximum speed and music volume settings through the ignition key. It’s a great new idea that will enable parents to inspire teenage drivers to be safe on the road.
