The Kia cee’d GT is a stylish and well-equipped five-door hot hatch which is fun to drive, excellent value for money, and a strong rival for the likes of the Golf GT and the Ford Focus ST.
Kia have created a truly eye-catching look for the front of the cee’d GT, with its bold signature grille, swept-back headlights and dice-style four-spot LED running lights. A more muscular bumper with expanded air intake, 18-inch alloy wheels with a graphite finish and twin exhaust pipes add to the sporty look.
The bold styling continues inside the cabin with a curvaceous rubberised dash, chrome-trimmed dials and smart black upholstery in Alcantara and leather, with red contrast stitching. The boot capacity is 380 litres, which you can expand to 1,318 litres by folding down the 60:40 split rear seats. Loading bulky items is easy thanks to the low boot lip.
The cee’d GT has a choice of two trims – the standard GT and GT Tech. The standard GT has plenty of equipment, such as tinted windows, sports seats and cruise control. An upgrade to the GT Tech edition gets you a range of extra features including a heated steering wheel and heated front seats, push-button start, automatic rain-sensing wipers and xenon headlights.
You get plenty of equipment for your money with the Kia cee’d, with electric windows front and back, air conditioning, and a six-speaker audio system. A USB connection is also fitted as standard. The GT Tech trim adds a reversing camera, and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satnav. The GT is also fitted with Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition and music streaming.
The Kia cee’d GT’s 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 201bhp output will move you from 0-60mph in approximately seven seconds, and has a top speed of 143mph. Fuel consumption is up to 38.2mpg and CO2 emissions are 170g/km.
Standard safety features in the cee’d GT include ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, hill start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system. A set of six airbags and ISOFIX child seat fixings are also included. Emergency stop signalling helps to minimise the risk of collisions by flashing to alert the driver behind when you brake rapidly in an emergency.
As with all new Kia cars, the cee’d is covered by the manufacturer’s industry-leading seven-year/100,000-mile warranty for your peace of mind.
