Attention all runners and fitness enthusiasts! Get ready to lace up your shoes and hit the pavement for the highly anticipated Eastbourne 5-mile road race! This exciting event is fast approaching and we at Birchwood Group are proud to be a sponsor of this thrilling competition, to further assist with the logistics of the event, we have kindly lent them a Transit Connect to help with the transportation of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items.
The Eastbourne 5-mile road race is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and push your limits. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking to get active and have some fun, this event is open to participants of all skill levels. With a flat and fast course, runners can expect to see stunning views of the Eastbourne coastline and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting event and can't wait to see all the participants pushing themselves to their limits on race day. But, it's not just about the runners, we also invite everyone to come out and show their support. This is a fantastic opportunity to cheer on your friends, family, and fellow runners and be a part of something truly special.

A simple, 3 lap out and back course along Eastbourne seafront’s lower promenade. The start, finish and turnarounds will be marked with cones. The course will be signed and marshalled.
3 simple, out and back laps.
Start at Sovereign Water Works, keeping left, head south west on the promenade.
At 0.83 miles turn left to take the pedestrian switch back ramp down to the road, and turn immediately right and back up the access ramp, back up onto the promenade.
Keeping left, head back towards the start.
At the end of your 1st and 2nd laps, round the cone, a marshal will direct you to turn and repeat.
Once you have completed 3 laps, keep left to avoid the turning cone and cross the timing mat to finish.
On the day entries may be available if we have not sold out at £20. Exact money or card payment accepted.

It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining brightly in the sky and a cool breeze blowing. The runners gathered at the start point ready to tackle a 5 mile course that would take them through a lovely view of the sea front. As they set off, the runners quickly fell into a comfortable pace, their feet pounding the pavement in perfect sync. The atmosphere was electric, with each runner pushing themselves to their limits while also enjoying the company of others.
After the race, the runners celebrated their achievement with some well-deserved refreshments and a chat, exchanging stories and experiences from the run. Despite the fatigue, everyone was in good spirits, buoyed by the sense of camaraderie and accomplishment.
It was great supporting the event this year, and good to see the Ford Transit Connect put to good use.
