On Saturday 23rd September thousands of cyclists took part and successfully completed the 2017 London to Brighton Bike Ride. Adam Dryer, Matthew Hemmingway and Wesley McCarthy from our Birchwood Kia Washington team decided to undertake this 80 mile challenge and ride for 10 hours from London to Brighton. The ride started at approximately 07:30am and they finished at an amazing time of approximately 17:00pm.

The guys wanted to raise funds for some incredible charities- The British Heart Foundation, Tommy's the baby charity and RNLI Lifeboats. Adam raised money for RNLI as he believes the work they do is invaluable and truly heroic, Matthew raised for The British Heart Foundation as it's a cause he feels make a huge difference to everybody's lives and Wesley raised for Tommy's, a charity very close to him and his partners hearts. They also wanted to complete an ambition to do something that would push their mind and bodies to the max.

Birchwood offer a Cycle To Work scheme to all employees that wish to purchase a bike and join the scheme for an affordable price. Wesley bought his bike through the Cycle To Work scheme as did a few other members of the Birchwood Kia Washington team who although did not take part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride, have been bringing their bikes out and training with Adam, Matthew and Wesley. They could enjoy the outdoors and really get some team bonding involved.

This truly was an amazing experience for the team and we would like to say a huge well done to the boys for taking part in this event- We are so proud of them!
