Birchwood Group has a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller to lead our newly formed SMART Repair operation.
The successful candidate will co-ordinate and complete vehicle repairs. You will demonstrate: A practical direct approach for the re-instatement of the body shop facility and the recruitment of qualified colleague. Knowledge of the latest techniques and systems to deliver a professional service. Business acumen to plan and execute an ambitious business plan. The ability to measure and monitor colleague performance to exacting standards. Ambition and drive to be part of a progressive retail motor group.
Your Responsibilities
To manage the efficient running of the workshop, achieving high levels of quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, maximising workshop utilisation, productivity and efficiency.
What We Are Looking For

If you are offered a role within Birchwood Group between the dates of 01/01/24 – 31/03/24 and start before 01/05/24 you will be eligible for a sign on bonus.
The total amount of sign on bonus will be £1000
£500 will be payable at the beginning of your employment. This will paid via payroll 1 month after you join.
£500 will be payable after the first 3 months of continuous employment. This will paid via payroll 4 months after you join.
The bonus is subject to Tax / NI Deductions
The bonus will be pro-rata in the case of part time contracts
Eligibility
Colleagues must be on permanent contracts
Colleagues must not have previously worked at Birchwood Group
Bonus is not applicable for colleagues who have transferred to the role from another role within Birchwood Group
Rules
New starters who join Birchwood Group outside of the bonus eligibility dates will not be eligible for the sign on bonus
If a colleague leaves within the first 3 months on employment, then they must repay the sign-on bonus. This will be taken from any available payroll payments.
If a colleague leaves employment before the 2nd instalment is paid, then they will not be eligible for the 2nd instalment
If a colleague receives a formal disciplinary or capability warning they will no longer be eligible for the bonus
All sign on bonus payments are discretionary and non-contractual
