WhatCar?: Family Car of the Year - For the third year running, the large hatchback has won the WhatCar? Family Car of the Year Award. It offers the ideal balance between practicality, style and value for money, making it an ideal choice for busy families needing to do the school run as well as the long commute. This year, the judges commended the high levels of equipment with a touchscreen, smartphone connectivity and a sound system included as standard. It’s rare to find so many gadgets in a car for the price of the Octavia. Beating the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Passat for interior space, it’s a practical choice for families. Jim Holder commented, “Interior space is exceptional, and includes a boot that’s easily big enough to cope with most people’s requirements.”

WhatCar?: Estate of the Year - Fuel efficient, practical and offering a comfortable, enjoyable drive, the Superb stands out in the Estate sector as a value-for-money car. It is the worthy winner of the WhatCar? Estate of the Year Award thanks to the perfect combination between luxury and practicality. The judges noted that the Superb has one of the largest cabins and boots in its class – a clear benefit for an estate. Extra helpful additions like a torch in the boot and dividers that prevent luggage moving around when it isn’t full lift the Superb above competition.
