The Kia PBV Story in Short

Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) program is a central part of the brand’s global ‘Plan S’ strategy, first introduced in January 2020.

In April 2023, Kia began construction of a dedicated electric van factory, reinforcing its commitment to the commercial EV market. The first PBV concepts, including the Concept PV5 and Concept PV7, were unveiled at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, highlighting Kia’s innovative approach to light commercial vehicles (LCVs).

The Kia PV5, the brand’s first fully dedicated electric van, is scheduled for launch in 2025. It offers industry-leading features, including a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, and integrated fleet management solutions, delivering unprecedented innovation and flexibility to the LCV sector.

In early 2025, Kia will reveal the production version of the PV5, followed by full specifications, pricing, and details of the UK business strategy, marking a major step forward in electric commercial vehicle innovation.
