The Mitsubishi Shogun is the latest edition of Mitsubishi’s acclaimed 4x4. Powerful and purposeful, the Shogun is a thoroughbred SUV perfect for rugged terrain which delivers all the off-road capabilities that you could hope for.
The new Shogun’s wide grille sports the three-diamond Mitsubishi logo, resplendent in chrome. Powerful HID headlights are positioned artfully next to the grille, while fog lamps, with LED daytime running lights, are positioned either side of the number plate. In profile, the new Mitsubishi Shogun’s features are enhanced by refined curves that subtly express the power of the engine within. A boxier rear than the previous model, it features a spare wheel on the tailgate, while striking rear lights make a definite impression. Black roof bars provide extra cargo opportunities and 18-inch alloy wheels ensure that, from top to bottom, the Shogun is always easy on the eye.
Inside the new Mitsubishi Shogun, the cabin provides plenty of room for passengers to feel truly relaxed and comfortable. A sophisticated ambience is inspired by black upholstery, with aluminium flashes showing on the dashboard trim, door panels and sporty pedals. Heated front seats provide extra comfort on especially cold days. Short wheelbase versions of the Shogun come with five seats, while long wheelbase (LWB) models offer seven-seat capacity. Create more cargo space by folding down the rear seats. With LWB models, both the second and third rows can be folded down to create lots of extra room.
Gain easy access to the new Mitsubishi Shogun with keyless entry. Climate control enables you to set the in-cabin temperature and stream your favourite tunes using Bluetooth connectivity or via a USB socket, using a compatible hand-held device. In addition, a radio and CD player is installed and played through six speakers.
The 4x4’s 3.2-litre diesel engine comes with a choice between automatic or manual transmission. Maximum torque of 441Nm and – with manual transmission – up to 197bhp is produced to propel you over testing terrain. Such high power makes the model a dependable tower too. Despite its size and strength, the new Mitsubishi Shogun can go from 0-60mph in a little over ten seconds. A stabiliser bar attached to the front axle reduces body roll as the car corners, which in turn minimises the understeer or oversteer that can make the off-roader difficult to control.
Allow yourself to concentrate on your driving by pre-setting cruise control to a maximum cruising speed. With Traction and Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, you have all the tools you need to maintain stable driving and total command. Six airbags are in position to provide extra protection for all occupants in the event of a collision. Whenever you leave the Shogun unattended, a fitted alarm is in place to keep would-be thieves at bay.
