The exterior of the new Picanto has been given a facelift to add a sportier feel. Distinctive features include a muscular wide bumper, redesigned grille and extra-large headlamps. 14-inch or 15 inch alloy wheels are included on all models from the SR7 and upwards. The Picanto is available in three door and five-door editions, with a choice of four colours on the three-door, and an additional three colour options on the five-door. Daytime running lights are also fitted as standard and welcome and follow-me-home lights add security and convenience when driving at night.
The Picanto’s wheelbase is longer than on the previous edition, resulting in a more spacious cabin in the front and rear. The boot space expands from 200 litres to a more generous 870 litres when the 60:40 split-folding rear seats are fully folded. The boot’s wide and tall opening also provides easier access for stowing large items. Repositioning the door mirrors is easy with electrically adjustable and heated mirrors on all models from the SR7 and upwards.
Steering is light and comfortable with an adjustable steering wheel, and black cloth upholstery complements the strong, clear layout of the dashboard. All models from 1Air upwards have air conditioning as standard, and the 3 and 4 editions have an upgrade to automatic air conditioning. For voice recognition and Bluetooth technology, you can choose from the SR7 or 2 trim options. The range topping three-door Chilli edition has additional features including a seven-inch touchscreen satnav display and a reversing camera system.
There are two petrol engines to choose from: the 1.0-litre 65bhp and the 1.25-litre 84bhp. CO₂ emissions are 105g/km for the 1.0-litre engine, and 130g/km for the automatic. All Picanto engines comply with the requirements of the Euro 6 emissions legislation.
Safety is a priority across the Kia range, with many features provided as standard on the Picanto.
