Here at Birchwood Ford we’re proud to support the RNLI, the charity which saves lives at sea and helps keep our beaches safe.
This year Ford is once again the official supplier of vehicles to the RNLI. Most visibly, with the Ford Ranger, which assists lifeguards to patrol beaches up and down the UK with its 4WD capabilities. The Ranger’s space and pulling power is also put to good use by helping to carry a wide range of rescue equipment, as well as deploying and recovering jet skis.
Alongside the Ranger, a number of other support vehicles come into their own helping to successfully deliver RNLI operations across the country.
The Ford Transit serves as an operations base on location in major search and rescue incidents. Whilst the Transit Custom is a reliable workhorse used to undertake vital maintenance work on lifeboats and other essential equipment.
The Transit Connect, Fiesta, Focus, Kuga & EcoSport are also all used by ‘on the ground’ members of the fundraising team and the RNLI’s educators, to take key water safety messages to schools & community events.
Since 1824, RNLI crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives. If you'd like to support them in their crucial work, come along and get involved with our RNLI Fundraising Event here at Birchwood Ford.
Throughout September you can visit any one of our Birchwood Ford showrooms to take part in our Lemon Challenge, to be in with a chance of winning a trip to Eastbourne Lifeboat Station and a Mustang for a weekend, subject to age, license and insurance conditions.
All you need to do is balance a coin on the floating lemon without it falling into the water, any coins that sink will be donated to the RNLI. If your coin balances for 5 seconds or more, you will be entered into the draw. *Minimum donation of 20p, terms and conditions apply.
On Saturday 25th September we will also be hosting a Charity Car Wash event, between 12-4pm, at Birchwood Ford Eastbourne. Come along to receive an exterior car clean whilst donating to this fantastic life-saving charity. *Minimum donation of £5 applies.
