Back in 2013, I started out with Birchwood as my first ever job in the motor trade and I haven’t looked back since! I genuinely love my job and can say that I really do enjoy coming into work every day. I started as an apprentice, before working my way up to a Sales Executive, then becoming Floor Manager and now the Commercial Vehicle Manager! Since lockdown came into play, I started up a new hobby - golf! I have never known a sport to make you feel like Tiger Woods one day, to then your usual 24 handicapper the next day! I am also an avid football fan and support the best team in London, scratch that- the world…Arsenal! I finally got to go back to my first live game in 20 months, which was the North London Derby a few weeks ago and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

I have been working in van sales since the age of 32 and really enjoy coming to work every day, customers are such fun and every department in the business are a joy to be around. One of the best things for me is when we get visited by our four-legged friends, dogs always make me smile! Outside of work, I am a very keen golfer (handicap 14) and love spending time with my wife.

I have been working at Birchwood for almost four years now. I am originally from Basildon but also spent over six years living in the United States. I moved into to the Commercial team last year, so I am now officially known as “Bob the van man.” In my spare time I enjoy playing football, I have followed West Ham all my life and like to go to games when I can. I also enjoy golf and fishing, when I’m not out walking the boy – Hugo, my German Shepherd. Hugo is just shy of two years-old, although he acts half his age!

Commercial vehicle sales has got to be one of the best departments to work in! I have been in the motor trade since the age of 18, and joined Birchwood in September 2021. I am originally from London, although I have lived in Eastbourne for pretty much all my life! When I’m not working, I am normally spending time with my wife Lydia and four children, aged 6,9,11 and 13! I also really enjoy running along the Cuckoo Trail and supporting Albion at games when I can.
Kris Sarsons, Commercial Sales Executive
Kris Sarsons is our newest member of the team. Kris joined at the start of January with previous experience in the automotive trade, having worked in various Parts, Workshop, Service and Sales roles. More recently, Kris was working as an Estate Agent so he is pleased to make his return to the motor industry.
