St Wilfrid's Hospice: Swim the Distance

Regardless of the length you decide to swim this month, every stroke you take will help raise money that is essential for providing hospice care to those who need it. Take the plunge and go the distance this March to raise vital funds for hospice care.

1st to 31st March 2023

St Wilfrid's Hospice is excited to announce it's annual "Swim the Distance" event, sponsored by Birchwood Group! Join us in supporting this amazing cause as you take on the challenge of swimming a distance of your choice. Signing up is FREE. You’ll just be asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £150 to support patient care.

  • Choose 8km and swim the width of the River Solent
  • Choose 15km and swim the length of Lake Windermere
  • Choose the biggie and swim 34km – the distance of the English Channel. This mega-challenge can also be completed as a team.

The event takes place in a safe and supportive environment, with lifeguards and experienced swim coaches on hand to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

You will recieve:

  • From the time you sign up until you have finished swimming the last length of the pool, the fundraising team will be there to support you.
  • A swimming cap with the St. Wilfrid's Hospice logo to improve your swimming ability in the water
  • Everyone who completes the challenge and raises the required amount of funding will get a custom finisher's medal.
  • Everybody who completes the challenge and donates £250 or more will get a custom microfiber towel with the St. Wilfrid's Hospice logo.
