Ford Motability Scheme Eligibility

Do I Qualify for Motability?

Ford Motability Dealer in East Sussex

Taking advantage of the Motability Scheme means being able to exchange your mobility supplement for the hire of a brand new model from acclaimed manufacturers such as Ford. The scheme, which has been operating for four decades, also provides a number of additional benefits for eligible drivers, including insurance, vehicle maintenance, annual road tax, and more.

In order to be eligible for the scheme, however, you need to ensure that you fulfil the necessary criteria. This criteria states that you should be in receipt of, and have at least 12 months’ allowance remaining on, one of the following benefits:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA) - as of April 12, 2017, this allowance is £58 per week
  • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP) - as of April 10, 2017, this allowance is £58 per week.
  • War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement (WPMS) - as of April 12, 2017, this allowance is £64.80 per week
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) - as of April 12, 2017, the mobility element of the allowance is £58 per week

Parents can even apply on behalf of a child aged three or older that receives a mobility allowance, and can drive the car on their behalf. It should be noted that a Motability vehicle must only be used by, or for the benefit of, the individual with the disability.

The team at Birchwood Ford will be able to help you determine your eligibility and help you complete the application for your chosen vehicle. Simply get in touch today to learn more.
