Ford Ranger wins Pick-up of the Year Award
For the second year running, the Ford Ranger has scooped the Auto Express Pick-up of the Year Award. Described by the magazine as ‘dominating’ the pick-up category, it received the accolade thanks to its impeccable blend of dependability, comfort and performance.
The Ranger’s ability to handle diverse challenges was praised in the Auto Express review. As a model that offers generous space for both occupants and cargo, impressive payload and towing capability, and class-leading wading depths, it’s expertly designed to work hard and tackle tough environments.
All models are equipped with Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, which is available with a choice of two power outputs and selectable four-wheel drive. Opting for the Raptor model rewards you with even better performance; the Fox suspension enables it to cover rough ground faster than most SUVs, resulting in a performance car style experience.
Despite the Ford Ranger’s ability to take on the toughest jobs, it scored highly for comfort. Cruising is smooth and relaxed in this pick-up, and its impressive spec ensures driver and passengers have all they need to keep them happy.
The Ranger beat competition from the Mitsubishi L200 and Toyota Hilux to claim the award, with its advanced technology and everyday utility giving it the edge on its rivals. Auto Express’ choice from the Ranger line-up is the Double Cab 2.0 EcoBlue 213 Limited model, which features automatic climate control, leather seats, privacy glass, a rear view camera and keyless entry as standard.
