There can be no price placed on the importance of literacy among children. Such a fundamental skill is the foundation for today’s youth developing into the doctors, teachers, writers, and artists of the future, and it all comes from those first few years in education. Ensuring that the educational resources are available, therefore, is of crucial importance.
At Birchwood Group in East and West Sussex, we believe that local organisations should do all they can in helping support schools in the development of children, which is why we’re proud to have assisted in raising valuable funds for the St. Andrew's Church of England Infants' School at its recent summer fair.
In being among the sponsors of the event, we at Birchwood Group were able to help contribute to the record‐breaking figures raised by the school. This money has since been used to help transform the library at the school, including the provision of new reading books for all three years. We are hugely proud to have been able to contribute in some small way to the invaluable work of the teaching staff at the facility, and will continue to help the school in future endeavours.
Stacey Carpenter, Chairman PTFA at St. Andrew's Church of England Infants' School, said: “We wouldn’t have raised as much as we did without the generosity of local companies like Birchwood Group who sponsored our event. We can’t thank you enough, this really has benefited our school in ways you can’t imagine. We have transformed the library into a bright and fun place for the children to visit and as part of this transformation we have created a calm and relaxing area for some of our children who need extra support on a one to one basis.”
Following the sponsorship of this summer’s event, we at Birchwood Group are delighted to announce that we will also be contributing to the Winter Fair on Saturday, December 7th.
